Training, Supervision &
Professional Development
Thoughtful training, consultation, and reflective support for professionals and organizations that serve children, families, and neurodivergent individuals.
Our Commitment to Professionals
At CTLC, professional development is more than learning new techniques. It is an opportunity to deepen professional judgment, connect knowledge with experience, and consider how development, relationships, culture, systems, and our own responses shape the work. We believe professionals grow best in spaces that encourage curiosity, reflection, thoughtful challenge, and continued learning.
CTLC supports students, associates, clinicians, educators, leaders, and interdisciplinary teams through supervised training, consultation, fieldwork supervision, and reflective practice facilitation. Across roles and disciplines, our goal is the same: to help professionals translate learning into ethical, responsive, relationship-centered practice that creates meaningful and lasting change.
Offerings
Clinical Supervision for CTLC Associates
CTLC employees pursuing licensure in marriage and family therapy, professional clinical counseling, clinical social work, or psychology receive structured clinical supervision as part of their employment. Supervision supports the development of clinical judgment, ethical practice, case conceptualization, and intervention skills through CTLC’s developmental, relational, culturally responsive, and neurodiversity-affirming lens.
Reflective Practice Facilitation
CTLC offers individual and group reflective practice facilitation for professionals, leaders, and teams across disciplines. Grounded in Donald Schön’s model, sessions help participants examine challenging situations, recognize the experience-based knowledge guiding their decisions, question assumptions, and translate reflection into more intentional practice.
Facilitation is led by Dr. Sherry Casper, a Reflective Practice Facilitator II and Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist. She brings more than 20 years of experience in clinical practice, supervision, professional development, and organizational leadership, together with advanced training in reflective practice and facilitation.
Practicum & Pre-Doctoral Opportunities
Each year CTLC offers supervised training opportunities to a limited number of doctoral students developing skills in psychological assessment, psychotherapy, consultation, and developmentally informed care. In recent years, we have provided elective practicum and advanced training experiences to doctoral students from Alliant International University, Capella University, National University, and other graduate programs. Trainees learn to understand each person within their relational, developmental, cultural, and neurodivergent context.
BCBA Fieldwork Supervision
Since 2012, CTLC has supported students pursuing BCBA certification from The Chicago School, Alliant International University, National University, programs in Arizona, and other universities across the country.
This is not typical BCBA fieldwork supervision. CTLC brings a specialized developmental and relational perspective to behavior analysis, with particular expertise in best practices for infants and toddlers from birth to age three and their families. Supervisees learn to integrate behavioral principles with developmental science, reflective practice, family-centered care, and an understanding of each person within their broader relational and cultural context.
